3TB memory: Graviton4-powered Amazon EC2 X8g instances

Amazon has announced the availability of Graviton-4-powered, memory-optimized X8g instances on AWS, offering ten virtual sizes and two bare metal options, with up to 3 TiB of DDR5 memory and 192 vCPUs. These X8g instances are the most energy-efficient EC2 Graviton instances yet, delivering unmatched price performance and scale-up capabilities compared to any previous Graviton-powered instances. With a 16:1 memory-to-vCPU ratio, these instances are specifically designed for demanding workloads such as Electronic Design Automation (EDA), in-memory databases and caches, relational databases, real-time analytics, and memory-constrained microservices.

The X8g instances also provide comprehensive security features, including full encryption of high-speed physical hardware interfaces. Additionally, these instances leverage the advanced capabilities of the AWS Nitro System and Graviton4’s built-in security features to ensure robust protection and performance for all types of workloads.

These new instances are available on every Cloudfleet Kubernetes Engine (CFKE) cluster.
